Canon Pixma MG5722 Drivers Download– The printer comes with a disk that you can use to install the driver and other software, but the Getting Started Guide mentions it in a paragraph that is literally on the mainstream side of the instructions. Follow the feed, and the guide sends you to the Canon website to download everything instead.
The download has the advantage of ensuring that you have the latest versions of all the software. However, it takes pretty much forever. In my test, the download failed once, and at the mark of 90 minutes after starting the installation, Windows reported that it would take 45 minutes more, how much I left to go do something else. Note that it was with a broadband connection that has a promise 75 Mbps download speed.
In all honesty, I must point out that I have installed two other Canon printers this way without the download fail and without taking quite as much time. Even when the process goes well, however, installing from the cloud is much longer than installing from a supplied disk. However, no matter how annoying the installation is, you only have to suffer through it once. It also helps that you can use the supplied disc instead, but it would be better if this tidbit stands out better in the Getting Started Guide.
