Canon PIXMA MX924 Review– PIXMA MX 924 is a top-of-the-Range Home Office model, but still stands well under £150 from online suppliers. Canon has two ranges of All-in-One printers, Pixma MG range for photographic enthusiasts and Pixma MX range, which is aimed at home office. Pixma MX 924 is a large machine, with the same ‘ gloss black box ‘ design, which has become the hallmark of Canon for the PIXMA series. Top has a folding paper support for the 35-Sheet automatic Document Feeder (ADF), which is a duplex device so you can scan and copy two-sided documents.

Set in the diagonal front edge of the scanner is the main control panel which, as well as have four button mode for scanning, copying, faxing and menu, has a 16-button Dual-Function pad that shows different legends depending on the function. When you negotiate a menu and a numeric keypad, when you send a fax, the buttons display four-Way arrows. We’re not sure it’s easier than having clusters for separate functions and there would be enough space in this great panel for both.

The entire front cover machine folds down to make the output tray, and the inner cover folds down to provide access for the disk caddy that allows direct CD/DVD printing. This caddy is neatly stored, clipped under a 20-sheet photo paper tray. This tray and the 250-Sheet one for plain paper are separate and accessible a little awkwardly through the corners in their front edges.

There are no memory card slots, which is understandable in a Home Office device, and the front USB socket is embarrassing to get on. If you want to print documents from a USB drive, you also need to go to advanced printing options, which is less than intuitive. USB and Ethernet connections are available at the back, as well as a phone line and earphone Jack. Wireless support is also available, though, and is the most versatile choice. The Software includes support for direct wireless, Google Cloud print and AirPrint access.
